Join us for our marriage celebration in Mexico City

We chose Mexico City for a couple of reasons.

First, we wanted to get married in Mexico to celebrate in the land of Angie’s family and cultural heritage. We love and cherish this place that Angie’s heart calls home and where Kyle has felt dearly welcomed.

Second, we chose Mexico City because we love traveling to this vibrant metropolitan Mexican city. We love the delicious food, the rich history, the flourishing plant-life, and the many different neighborhoods for endless exploration.

So we hope you’ll join us in this special place for our special day!

Our Story

Austin Tx

Our love story began in Austin, Texas, where we were both attending The University of Texas. Upon Connor’s invitation, Angie attended the Texas Wesley when we met for the first time.

Over time, we became close friends. We enjoyed swing dancing, two-stepping, sharing meals, and making art.

We went on our first date in downtown Austin in December 2015. It was an unconventional first date — slurping ramen, walking around the Capitol grounds asking deep questions, and ending it watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Kyle’s roommates.

Together, we navigated our last years of college, long-distance while Kyle studied in Chile, discerning new career paths, and preparing for graduate school that would lead us out of Austin.

Moving to Massachusetts

In 2018, we decided that we would move together to Massachusetts for graduate school: Angie to attend optometry school in Worcester and Kyle to attend seminary in Boston. This was a big moment for us. Our love grew stronger despite quasi-long distance in a distant land.

Thanks to the MBTA Commuter Rail Line, we’d spend our weekends together studying and exploring our new cities. We would enjoy strolling in the Boston Public Garden, walking around Newbury Street, and exploring coffee shops and restaurants in Boston.

In 2020, the pandemic drew us closer together, culminating in our engagement in December when visiting friends back in Austin for winter break.

Boston

Following a brief rotation in Atlanta, Georgia in summer 2021, Angie finally moved to Boston for her last year of optometry school. And life has been so good living in the same city again! We have enjoyed getting to experience the beginnings of our professional lives simultaneously. We love our work, and it comes with so many joys and also many challenges. So we are grateful to have each other and to have made our small apartment a place of rest and restoration.

Boston is the place where we became optometrist and pastor. And Boston is the place our love flourished to the moment of marriage. We don’t know what the future holds, but we trust that God will continue to guide us in growth together, with the help of our beloved family and friends both near and far.

Thank you

Our love is not our own. It has been nurtured and supported by all of you. We appreciate all the ways you have prayed for us, cared for us, fed and welcomed us, called us and called us to account. We are because of the loving community that surrounds us. So, as we invite you to share in this marriage moment, we simply want to share out of the depths of our hearts: thank you.
